A musical tea party to celebrate Celia Hayes and her love of music.

Celia introduced so many young people to the sheer joy of making music and we will be celebrating that gift.

So, come and join us for an afternoon of music from nursery rhymes to professional singing, with instruments of all shapes and sizes: recorders, flutes, piano, trumpets and violins!

Saturday, 11th FOSAC Call My Wine Bluff Evening:
Come and see if you can tell which expert is telling the truth about the wines being sampled!

The evening starts with a light hearted opener, Wine Options, and the chance to win a £50 prize, whilst enjoying a drink and nibbles.

Teams are then asked to taste a wine and listen to three experts describing it's provenance and price - but only one will be telling the truth.

It is up to your team to work out who has told the truth before moving on to the next wine.

Tickets, at £20 including supper, are in aid of the Friends of St. Andrew's Church.

Join in our Parable Of The Talents programme by taking £10 and making it grow as much as you can for the Church by Harvest.

Past Talents have included jam making, coffee mornings, cream teas, cards, plants and cakes as well as straightforward donations, but the real fun is getting together to increase our tenners!

Tuesday, 18th Medstead Annual Parish Meeting
All residents of the Parish and members of the congregation are welcome to attend our annual Parish meeting.

Responsibility for running and maintaining the Church is delegated to Churchwardens and the Parochial Church Council (PCC). At the Annual Parochial Church Meeting the PCC present their annual report and Churchwardens and members of the PCC are elected.

Anyone on the Electoral Roll is eligible to vote. If you would like to nominate someone to be a Churchwarden for the year, or a member of the PCC or to fill vacancies on the Deanery Synod, then nomination forms are available. Please contact one of the Churchwardens.

A firm and favourite part of Medstead's social calendar, the Safari Supper is a mobile dinner party, with each course held at a different home.

The Rogation Walk will start at the Church Hall, and at suitable points along the way we will pause for prayer and hymns, stopping for refreshments around halfway.

Walkers will need to be in strong boots and good voice!

The theme of the festival will be 80 Glorious Years: celebrating the life of Her Majesty the Queen, Elizabeth II and it is hoped the various arrangements will cover her life, interests and events during her life.

Saturday, 9th Historic Churches Sponsored Ride
The Hampshire and the Islands Historic Churches Trust's annual sponsored cycle ride is an opportunity to discover ancient churches and to raise funds for your favourite place of worship and the Trust.

Participants gain sponsorship and visit as many churches registered for the event as possible. An enjoyable day is had by individuals, families or groups of all ages, interest in historic churches like St. Andrew's is promoted and Christians of all denominations are brought together.

Funds raised are split equally between the Trust and the church(es) of the individual's choice.

A traditional celebration supper and harvest thanksgiving for everyone in the village, with entertainment, so bring all the family, friends and neighbours, young and old.

Tickets: Adults £3.00, Children under 16 £1.50.

All money raised from this event will be given to WaterAid to provide village water supplies in third world countries.

Saturday, 16th Autumn Walks
An opportunity to enjoy the lovely countryside around Medstead and the convivial company of your fellow walkers.

Choose from one of two circular walks, one will be approximately 7 miles, the other around 3½ miles.

The price is £7.50 per head which includes Sue's legendary hot pot with French bread at the Castle of Comfort.

We need to advise Sue before the day of the numbers coming, so please sign up on the list at the back of the church or contact Bill Davis.

Hosted by Kathryn and Ben Flenley in aid of the Kathryn Mercy Home, Devakottai.

The proceeds will be used by the Reverend Jeyapaul towards buying a piece of land adjacent to the home to provide much needed cooking facilities.

The Diocesan Adviser, Gordon Randall, will join us to help establish the direction in which our Church should be heading.

Whatever view you have of the Church of England, St. Andrew's as a Church, or even the quality of our coffee, we need you at this gathering so we can, by working together, continue to do God's work in Medstead.

Sunday, 3rd Christingle / Posada
Christingle is a beautiful Christmas service, held on the first Sunday in December, especially for children, which raises money for The Children's Society.

During Posada the figures of Mary and Joseph from St. Andrew's Nativity display journey each night over Advent through Medstead, re-enacting their search for lodgings.

The idea is Mary and Joseph stay with a different family, or in a different place, every night, returning to our Church for the Crib Service on Christmas Eve.
