St Andrew's welcomes everyone

At St. Andrew's we welcome everyone to our services: members of our church, visitors, or even if you have never been to a service before.

Each month we hold a Family Service and, at Christmas, a Christingle Service, each especially designed to appeal to children of all ages. We also hold special services at the major feasts such as Easter and Christmas.

Services

The following services are planned at St. Mary's Bentworth, St. Mary's Lasham, St. Andrew's Medstead and St. Peter & St. Paul Shalden, in the coming weeks.

There may, occasionally, be late variations to the published guide; to confirm a particular service please contact a Churchwarden.

Readings at St. Andrew's services are taken from the Anglicised version of the New Revised Standard Version pew bibles. You may also search the NRSV online.

Post-Service Coffee

You are most welcome to join us for coffee in the Church Hall from midday, after our main 11am Sunday service. It is an excellent opportunity to meet other members of the congregation, renew old friendships and catch up on the latest news.

Please remember to put some extra cash in your pocket as there may also be cakes, marmalade, cards, plants and more, to buy.

We look forward to meeting you!

St. Andrew's Service Pattern:

Our services follow a regular pattern for the four Sundays of the month:

Sunday Service
First: 11.00am Parish Communion (Common Worship)
Second: 8.00am Holy Communion (Book Of Common Prayer)
11.00am Family Service (Common Worship)
Third: 11.00am Parish Communion (Common Worship)
Fourth: 8.00am Holy Communion (Book Of Common Prayer)
11.00am Morning Prayer (Common Worship)

In the months when there are five Sundays, all four churches in the Benefice meet together at 10.00am for a Benefice Communion Service.

Julian Meetings:

Julian Meetings are open to all denominations and we hold ours from 8.00pm until 9.00pm on the first and third Friday of each month. We start with coffee, listen to music and a reading, currently from Dame Julian's Revelations of Divine Love, and then have twenty minutes of silent contemplation, before ending with more music. We leave taking the silence with us.

If quiet Christian contemplation is something you might enjoy, you are interested in coming along, or just want to find out more about it, please ring Chris or Elizabeth Tew on 01420 563106.

Daily Bible Reading:

To help you study the Bible at home on a regular daily basis, it can be arranged for you to receive a copy of Daily Bread or Encounter with God, from the Scripture Union, which give suggested daily readings and some brief, enlightening notes.

Please contact David Rowe on 01420 562577 for further information on these and similar publications.
